League Rules

Listed below are the rules for the World Wide Player Haters fantasy football league. This league uses a head-to-head scoring format with a regular season spanning the first 13 weeks of the actual NFL season. Playoffs will span weeks 14 though 16 of the NFL regular season.

Teams

Currently, this is a twelve-team league with three four-team divisions. As popularity increases or decreases, the league size will adjust accordingly.

Team Roster

Each owner will fill his or her roster with a combination of 16 individual players and team defenses. From these 16 players each owner will submit a lineup every week. Lineups shall be made up of the following players:

  • 1 QB
  • 2 RBs
  • 3 WRs
  • 1 TE
  • 1 PK
  • 1 DEFENSE

Additional rules for rosters are as follows:

  • The remaining seven players on a team roster are designated as Bench Players and do not score.
  • In any week that a team cannot field a valid lineup (players on a bye week count toward valid roster spots), they score zero points.
  • A team may choose to fill their roster with any combination of player positions, keeping in mind the above rule.

Winning Games

The outcome of a fantasy matchup (two fantasy teams playing against each other during a given NFL week) is determined by totaling the individual player scores from each team's fantasy lineup, then comparing the respective fantasy team totals. The team with the most points wins the matchup. In the event of a tie, the outcome of the matchup will be scored as a tie (with the exception of playoff games, see below for those rules).

Schedules and Divisions

There are currently three divisions with four teams in each division. Each team will play the members of their division twice. The remainder of their games will be played with seven of eight non-conference teams. The team with the best overall record in their division will be designated their respective divisional champion. The first tie breaker is total points scored. The second tie breaker is total points against. Any subsequent tie breakers will be decided by the commissioner.

Trades

Trades are facilitated on the League website with the Trade Center tool. Owners can send private messages to other owners proposing, approving, and/or denying trades. All trades are subject to approval by the Commissioner, in an effort to keep the integrity of the league intact.

Playoffs

Playoff scenarios are as follows:

  • Six teams make the playoffs
  • The three conference champions automatically make the playoffs
  • The remaining 3 teams will be made up of the teams with the best overall records with the first tie breaker being total points scored.
